Babysitting Ideas

February 12, 2010 by Sushant

Usually parents are heard telling teachers and daycare takers that they are amazed how a number of kids can be handled so patiently when they find it difficult to handle the one or two they have; but then who said that baby-sitting is not an art. One needs to be extremely creative when it comes to baby-sitting. After all a child’s attention cannot not be captured on a single task for too long. No wonder    nursery rhymes are no more than a couple of lines. And yet at the same time when a child likes something then he/ she indulges in the same activity like an unstoppable broken record.

Whether you are an expert at baby-sitting or not here are some tips for babysitting that would make it an even more pleasure task for you as well as make you popular amongst the children who are under your care…

- Break-up the baby-sitting period into segments wherein various   activities can be incorporated. For instance, keep a certain   amount of time for teaching concepts, nursery rhymes, watching   television, reading short stories, playing games, eating, etc.
- Instead of being a figure of authority, be a child with the child;   and still being an adult when you need to teach some important   lesson
- Keep a smile on your face, after all children despise grumpy old   aunts
- Narrate stories with the help of pictures or else et picture story   books
- Keep the child or children in your care busy
- When you need to teach something, do not instruct but be a   participant in your own instructions. For instance, suppose you   want the child or children to put away the toys, then instead off   ordering them to do so, pick the toys along with them
- One of the most difficult aspects of babysitting is the feeding   time.

To make the task easier a tried and tested method of successful feeding method is to keep the child’s mind diverted by talking to them or telling them a story. They are s busy listening to you that they do not even realize how much they have eaten
” Make outdoor activities a part of the baby sitting routine

Above all, all a child needs is an environment full of love and happiness, which will take you through an easy routine of baby sitting; whether it is a single child or a handful. Like the age old adage goes, ‘When in Rome, do as the Romans do; in case of babysitting it is ‘When with children, bring the child out in you.

Daycare Furniture

February 10, 2010 by Sushant

You maybe looking for daycare furniture to open a your own daycare center or then maybe to provide the best of daycare at home, and under such circumstances you probably are wondering what is required and what is not. First and foremost it must be kept in mind that the environment you create is not very different from the home environment one is used to.

Taking into account that you are setting up a child daycare center then there are certain factors to be kept in mind as listed below.

- You have to invest in cots that are comfortable and safe
- The center must represent a nursery with lots of color and toys    around
- The floors should be carpeted to ensure the child’s safety
- You need to invest in inflatable paddle pools
- It is preferable to have a garden in the compound of your daycare  center that should have musical nursery rhymes & outdoor play equipment
- You could put up cutouts of animals, birds, alphabets, numbers,    which adds life to dull surroundings
- All furniture such as sofas and chairs should be of a low level
- You need to purchase food table-and-chair that are especially    designed for toddlers
- As far as the space factor is concerned, something open ad less    cluttered is preferred

For an adult daycare center you should preferably keep the following in mind:

- The daycare center should not represent a hospital
- A backyard garden does wonders for those admitted to your   center
- Instead of creating a dormitory-type setting, it is preferable to   have rooms on twin sharing basis so that those in your care get   some rest when they need to and feel as if they at home
- You should incorporate a reading section with some baby pictures
- Adults enjoy playing cards and other indoor games for which a    separate room should be maintained
- The furniture should be like it is at home, because remember they    are visiting their second home during the day
- The walls should be of sober and light shades, especially the    pastels

If you are planning to employ a day care taker at home, you must keep in mind that the environment should be pleasant not just for the person being taken care of but also the day care taker too.

Daycare Supplies

February 9, 2010 by Sushant

Are you busy all day and at work and have a child to be taken care off who is too young to attend normal day school? Or then you have an invalid adult who is dependent on round-the-clock help and you need assistance to take care of him/her? If your answer is yes to any of these questions then the first thing you are probably looking for is a daycare supplier.

Daycare suppliers deal in providing day care takers who would visit your home and take care of the loved one who needs to be tended too or alternatively they run their own daycare centers. Daycare suppliers usually train their personnel. When approached they understand the clients’ profile and in accordance assign their personnel to the household.

Daycare suppliers also recommend additional facilities that need to be provided so as to ensure that your child or the adult to be taken care of are not at risk in any which ways. In case of child daycare the daycare supplier would provide an inventory of all that is needed by the day care taker, which would include the food, medicines, educational tools and toys, etc. Similarly, in case of an adult, the daycare supplier would look into all requirements in accordance.

Daycare is a huge responsibility for any individual or institute at large engaged in supplying such services. After all it is no easy task to take care of a life that is at a delicate of stage of existence and needs their immediate family more than anything else. And yet, the daycare supplier will leave no stone unturned in providing service that smiles through the most trying of times while tending to the one in their care

Daycare Providers

February 8, 2010 by Sushant

Have you ever calculated the actual cost of caring? Yes, true, it is priceless! How can you attach a price to compassion and tending too? But yet, there is a price for every service rendered. It is not being materialistic, but it is about respecting the service of someone unknown to you and your loved one being taken care off. But, then no matter what the price tag may be it is always too less compared to the efforts put into tending to your child.

The daycare workers are responsible for taking care of every need of the person put in their charge. This includes the hunger, thirst, and mental and emotional needs. The day care taker works as a family member. The caretaker is more than a nurse or ward boy. For them the child or adult in their care is not a patient, but a person who needs to be taken care of completely. And so every penny spent on a day care taker is nothing in comparison to the amount that he or she gives in terms of service rendered.

Apart from cost of the day caretaker, a daycare center has other expenditures that are taken care of in the form of fees collected. While you as a parent would drop the medicines that your child needs to take, the center incurs other expenses like food for your child, the utility bills such as electricity and telephone, maintenance of hygiene and sanitation, etc. Keeping the expenses in mind the daycare center charges a fee, which becomes the cost for daycare service.

On the other hand, if you opt for a home day care taker then the cost differs as in this case you are required to pay a salary and apart from that invest in various provisions that are otherwise a part and parcel of a daycare center.

However, whether you acquire the services of a daycare center or you employ a day care taker, either ways the cost varies in accordance to the quality of service provided. The higher the quality the higher the price as is the case with any service.

Child Day Care

February 5, 2010 by Sushant

A child day care is set up so as to provide a second home for children who are too young to attend normal school. A day care has become more of a necessity today, than it has been regarded. This is simply because it is essential that both the husband and wife need to work in order to provide the best for their family. A single earning member does not seem to be enough income for a family to live comfortably.

Under such circumstances, women need to return to work soon after the birth of their baby. As nuclear family is the common trend there is no one to tend to the baby in absence of both mother and father. They can only fire a helping hand in terms of a servant. And this can be a huge risk, especially if the servant turns out to be disloyal, greedy, or to put it simply – evil. There have been numerous cases of maid-servants drugging the baby in their care and brining home their boyfriends, or then they just simply rob the house. Or a maid servant just doing her duty could be harmful for your child’s healthy over all development as he or she requires a lot of love and tenderness while being nursed and nurtured.

This is where a child day care comes in. The day care specially developed for children are more often than never run by people who have passion for children. Their prime concern is to provide a home-like environment to children whose parents need to work to earn a decent living. The child day care provides amenities and services that keep in mind the child’s development – all round development. This includes physical, emotional, mental, psychological, etc. The child day care is instituted to prepare the child for the next stage of schooling. And definitely sending your child to a day care is a wiser decision than letting the child grows up at the hands of an illiterate maid servant.

Marketing a Family Daycare

February 4, 2010 by Sushant

Can you market traits like love, warmth, tenderness, kindness, compassion, etc? The obvious answer to this would be no. And this is what marketing a family daycare is about. A family daycare functions no less than a surrogate home for children. It is where the child is placed so that he or she is given the right kind of upbringing as provided by parents under normal circumstances.

Yet, in spite of these facts, you would still need to market your daycare centre. And how would you do this? The answer is simple! You need to think like a child and present to parents your daycare centre. Confused? Well, it is not as confusing as you think it is!

To market a family daycare you need to provide services to children. These include tending to them, feeding them, inducing value based education, educating them on the basics of alphabets, numbers and other concepts, aiding towards their over all development in terms of physical, mental, emotional, social, etc. All these services are what parents look for, for their children. Remember you are a surrogate mother providing a surrogate home to young ones!

When marketing your family daycare, be realistic as far the promises you make. Do not promise the sky and remain grounded on earth. To put it simply be honest bout all that you have to offer in terms of your services. You may feel that it makes no difference as children placed at daycare centers are of the age where they cannot speak; but then parents are very sensitive and realize exactly how their children are being taken care of.

Placing advertisements in the print media or commercials on the televisions may help you to bring in enquiries, but what sells is the way your daycare centre is set up, as well as the services you provide and most importantly you as a person. And one point that should be noted is that word-of-mouth publicity is what take a family daycare centre to the heights of popularity, rather than the ads placed all over the placed.

Opening a Daycare

February 2, 2010 by Sushant

A daycare requires people who love children in order to serve children to the optimum level. After all whatever you do with a passion is done fantastically or otherwise it is just as good as not done at all. This applies to also tending to children.

Children attending a daycare have to do so out of compulsion as the parents for whatever reasons are unable to take care of their own children. Apart from that today, one would only find a few joint families existing. What is the connection between requirement for a daycare centre and a joint family? It is as simple as this! In a joint family there are members who can take the responsibility of bringing up the child, which is not possible in a nuclear family if both parents are working.

To open a daycare you need enough space  to work from home to comfortably admit at least eight-to-ten children, increasing the number to not more than fifteen, otherwise it would be difficult for you to give any of them personal attention. You have to make the interiors absolutely child friendly with a lot of toys strewn about, colorful pictures on the walls, picture books at arms length away, children’s music playing in the background and a gambit of other furniture and artifacts that are designed for children.

It always helps to have some open space in the backyard or a well enclosed verandah where the children can also enjoy the freshness of the outdoors. Apart from all this you need child-friendly helpers who consider tending to children a pleasure and not a burden.

Whether you are well equipped or not, primarily you as a person must be warm, patient, loving, compassionate, active and all other qualities that define a mother. After all your daycare centre is no less than a surrogate home to those admitted.

Day Care Center

February 2, 2010 by Sushant

The continuous process of urbanization has caused us to shift from the joint family set-up to nuclear family existence. This is in fact a hindrance to those who have young children. Why? This is simply because due to the expensive standards of urban living every family of an average of four members requires to earning members. This turns out to be the husband and wife.

Under such realistic circumstances obviously after giving birth the mother is required to return to work at the earliest in order to avoid termination of duty. No in-laws to take care of the child, the need to make a living, so what is the next best option? The day care centre.

A day care centre is set up in a way to function as a second home for your child. Even the attendants are trained to function as surrogate mothers. They tend to your child in a way that your child does not feel like an outsider. The child’s every need is taken care of, right from medication to nappy changing and feeding timings. Apart from taking care of your child, the day care centre also takes the responsibility of training your child in the basics that usually he or she would be taught at home.

There are day care centers that have a formal sort of institutional setting and there are the in home daycare centers that are started in the confines of one’s residence. No matter where the daycare centre is set-up it functions to take care of your child as you would have done at home. When selecting a daycare centre for your child you have to remember that you yourself are comfortable in the centre. You have to see that the environment is cozy and comfortable. Another aspect that you need to keep in mind is the hygiene and sanitation standards maintained at the daycare centre and finally the nature and personality of each one of the attendants and care-takers.

Daycare Centers

February 1, 2010 by Sushant

If you are busy during the day and are unable to tend to your baby, you do not have to worry as today, with the number of daycare centers mushrooming all over the place, you can find one that is convenient to you in terms of distance from home as well as care taken of your child. After all when you have the choice in terms of quantity then definitely your choice will be in terms of quality.

What is it that you need to keep in mind when placing your child at any of the day care centers? First and foremost you need a daycare centre that will provide for your child a home-like environment. The main thing to look at is that the care-takers are surrogate mothers. They should have a pleasing personality, with a mother-like warmth. It always works well to see that the daycare centre has young and energetic staff as it is not an easy task to take care of a number of children, that too toddlers and infants.

Daycare centers have actually become the need of the hour. With the cost of living being extremely high, it is a necessity for almost every household to bring in double income. What does this mean? Both, husband and wife need to work to be able to provide a decent living for the family. In these circumstances, the child needs to be taken care of, and this is taken care of by the daycare centers.

The cost of placing your child in a daycare centre varies from the not so expensive in home daycare centers run by women from the comfort of their homes to the more expensive daycare centers housed by schools and other institutes. These expensive centers are set-up in a formal setting, providing quality daycare services for your child. Most of them have the advantage of ensuring school admissions to your child, which actually to a great extent takes a huge load of your shoulders.

But then placing your child in any of the daycare centers does let you go through your daily routine without any worries as you know that you can rest assured that while you are working your child is well taken care of. But then that is as long as you make the right choice from all the daycare centers.
